The NERDSummit is held in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, which has strong communities focused on WordPress, Drupal, programming, coding for public good, and Makerspaces respectively.

The 2014 NERDSummit was a huge success and we anticipate increased interest and participation in 2015.

Last year approximately 500 people participated in the conference from across the New England region.

NERDSummit has its roots in two vibrant Western Mass. technology communities: meetup.com/nohowebdev (434 members primarily interested in WordPress and general programming and groups.drupal.org/western-massachusetts (272 members primarily interested in Drupal)

The NERDSummit venue is home to a variety of educational institutions, including a flagship research university, two Seven Sisters Colleges and seveal community colleges. The following a list of major schools in the area with 2014 enrollment sizes: UMASS Amherst (25,873), Amherst College: (1,817), Hampshire: (1,431), Mount Holyoke: (2,204), Smith: (3,065), Greenfield Community College: (2,236), and Holyoke Community College: (6,461)

At the 2014 NERDSummit, 37% of participants were women involved or interested in technology
