Building Pebble Apps with JavaScript

Pebble.JS allows any developer to write applications completely in JavaScript. This session is to provide you with an introduction to building a Pebble app that consumes an API, all via JavaScript. I'll even throw in a task runner to make the code-compile-test process faster. Tasks to be completed in this session:
  1. Clone the skeleton application
  2. Go over the basics of the libraries Pebble.js provides
  3. Build the app for the first time
  4. Run the app in the emulator
  5. Write a loading screen
  6. Speed up the build process with a task runner
  7. Write the screen that consumes the API

Speaker Bio(s):
I'm the Director of Engineering at Credly. I've been writing code for about six years now and have worked for a few different web shops in the Western Mass area. In my free time I enjoy learning new technologies (which sometimes results in publishing an iOS app). But when I'm not writing code I'm usually working on my house, at the gym, or playing video games.
